These Conditions of Sales apply to private mountain bike tours provided under the name Angkor Wat Bike in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
By confirming a booking, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
Booking
Bookings can be arranged through the website, WhatsApp, email or directly with me.
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed on the date, group size and main arrangements for the tour.
Please provide accurate information about the number of riders and, when requested, rider heights or any other information needed to prepare suitable bikes.
Every booking is private and is never combined with another group.
Payment
No advance payment is normally required.
I cover the tour expenses during the day, and payment is normally made in cash at the end of the tour when I return you to your hotel.
If another payment arrangement is agreed in advance, I will confirm it with you directly.
Prices
The price confirmed for your booking is the total price for your private group.
The current pricing shown on the website is based on the number of riders.
The standard tour price includes the items stated on the website, including the mountain bikes, hotel pick-up and return by tuk-tuk, lunch, drinking water and snacks.
E-MTBs are available at an additional charge where available.
The Angkor Archaeological Park entrance pass is not included.
Cancellation
If your plans change, please let me know as early as possible.
You can cancel without charge until I reconfirm the bikes, transport and other logistics on the morning of the tour.
For an 8:00 am pick-up, I normally make this final confirmation at around 7:15 am.
If we have agreed on a different start time, the corresponding confirmation time will be adjusted accordingly.
Once the bikes, transport and other logistics have been reconfirmed, some costs become non-refundable to me. If you cancel after that point, I may ask you to cover only the costs that have already been committed specifically for your booking.
There is no additional cancellation penalty beyond those committed costs.
Pick-up and Delays
Hotel pick-up is arranged at the time agreed for your tour.
If you are delayed, please let me know as soon as possible.
If I cannot reach you at the agreed pick-up time, any non-refundable costs already committed for bikes, transport or other arrangements may remain payable.
Where possible, I will always try to adapt rather than cancel the day because of a reasonable delay.
Tour Schedule and Flexibility
Tours usually start at around 8:00 am, but the start time can be adjusted by agreement.
There is no fixed finishing time. Depending on the route and how much you feel like riding, most tours finish sometime between approximately 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Because the tour is private, the pace, stops and route can be adapted during the day.
If one rider or part of the group wants to stop before the others, it may be possible for them to return separately by tuk-tuk while the rest of the group continues riding.
Weather and Route Changes
Tours operate in both dry and rainy weather. Rain alone is not normally a reason to cancel the tour.
During the rainy season, heavy showers are often temporary. Depending on the conditions, we may wait for the rain to pass, adjust the start time, take a longer break or change part of the route.
Routes may also be adapted because of trail conditions, flooding, official restrictions, the ability of the group or other practical considerations.
If conditions make the planned route unsuitable, I will choose an appropriate alternative whenever reasonably possible.
If exceptional circumstances make it unreasonable or unsafe for the tour to take place at all, I will cancel or postpone it without charging you for the tour.
Angkor Pass
A valid Angkor Archaeological Park entrance pass is required for routes entering ticketed areas.
The Angkor Pass is not included in the tour price.
You are responsible for obtaining and carrying the appropriate pass. I can provide practical information about this before the tour if needed.
Bikes and Equipment
Mountain bikes are prepared according to the information provided before the tour.
Please provide accurate rider heights when requested so that suitable bikes can be arranged.
Helmets and cycling gloves are provided. The bikes use comfortable saddles suited to a full day of recreational riding.
E-MTBs can be arranged subject to availability and at the additional price stated on the website or confirmed with you.
Bikes are checked and prepared for the ride, and practical backup equipment is available for problems that may occur during the day.
Please use all bikes and equipment responsibly and follow reasonable instructions regarding their use.
What to Bring
Come light, with comfortable clothes and good shoes.
I carry drinking water, snacks and most of the practical essentials we may need during the ride.
Women should bring something light to cover their shoulders and knees when entering the temples. I usually also have a suitable cover-up available if needed.
Health and Fitness
You do not need advanced mountain biking skills to join most tours.
However, this is still a physical outdoor activity involving off-road riding, uneven trails and sometimes hot or wet conditions.
You are responsible for deciding whether you are reasonably fit and able to participate.
Please tell me before the tour about any health condition, injury or physical limitation that could materially affect your ability to ride safely or that I should reasonably know about when adapting the route.
If you are unsure whether the tour will suit you, ask me before booking.
Safety and Inherent Risks
Mountain biking and outdoor activities naturally involve some risks that cannot be completely removed, including falls, uneven or slippery terrain, obstacles, weather conditions, animals and occasional sections involving road traffic.
I take reasonable care in preparing the bikes, choosing the route and adapting the ride to conditions and the group.
You agree to follow reasonable safety instructions and to ride at a level appropriate to your ability.
A first-aid kit and practical essentials are carried during the tour.
Nothing in these conditions is intended to exclude or limit responsibility where such responsibility cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Personal Belongings
Please travel light and avoid carrying unnecessary valuables while riding.
You remain responsible for your personal belongings during the tour.
Angkor Wat Bike cannot be responsible for loss, theft or accidental damage to personal belongings except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance covering cycling or mountain biking, medical treatment, accidents and personal belongings is recommended.
It is your responsibility to check that any insurance you rely on provides appropriate cover for the activities you intend to undertake.
Respect for the Sites
Many of the places visited are active religious and archaeological sites.
Please follow local rules and any instructions given by temple staff or park authorities.
Routes and access may occasionally need to change because of closures, conservation work, religious activities or instructions from the relevant authorities.
Changes During the Tour
The routes described or shown on the website are examples of the type of experience offered rather than fixed itineraries.
The exact trails, temples, stops and duration may vary depending on weather, trail conditions, the interests and ability of the group and practical circumstances on the day.
This flexibility is part of the private-tour format.
Applicable Rules and Disputes
These Conditions of Sales are intended to operate in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
If a problem arises, please contact me first so that we can try to resolve it directly and reasonably.
